Ashby Boat Builders has operated from Lawries Boat Services yard at Buddina since 2000.

Headed up by Adam Ashby, the business has grown to approximately 20 employees with a diverse range of skills. The team is proficient in jobs from simple antifouling to complete refits.

We offer total coordination for designing, layout, rewiring, refurnishing and installations with the craftsmens touch.

Vessel Management

We offer a complete vessel management service:

·          Preparation of your vessel prior to each trip

·          Boat wash down after you return; vacuum floors, remove covers and clean windows

·          Reminders for annual slipping  - and if you’re busy, we’ll collect your vessel from your mooring and return it after the job’s done.

·          Reminders for expiry dates on safety equipment.

·          If you’re going to be away for an extended period, call us to run your engines and check your mooring lines.

·          Development of an operations manual + detailed inventory for your vessel, including where items are stowed. If you have friends, family or a delivery skipper using your boat, this can be invaluable.

·          Engine oil & fuel filter changes.

·          In-water bottom cleans.

·          Prop & anode checks and replacements.

Buffing and Detailing

We use and recommend Dulon — the best shine and protection under the sun.

Directly developed from aeronautical research in the USA, originally to protect and reduce the drag on aircraft.

Its two-component system nourishes and protects all surfaces with a polyurethane base, i.e. marine paints and gel coats.

Being totally water based Dulon is non-toxic, exceeds European safety standards, and is biodegradable.
